Articoli Correlati: ESMA - LEIs
On 20 June 2018, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) claimed there is no need for the temporary period for the introduction of Legal Entity Identifiers (LEIs) to be extended over the originally provided six months. Consequently, as ESMA maintained, said temporary period ended on 2nd July 2018. The six months period was originally provided under MiFIR in order to give all legal entities the possibility to comply with the provisions of the regulation in time for the entering into force of the MiFID II. Having registered that an increasing number of entities became compliant in the past months, ESMA claimed that there was no need to extend the period. Having so considered, the monitoring activities of the NCAs will shift to supervisory actions with the coordination with ESMA itself.
