Articoli Correlati: UK - Brexit deal - EU

UK government papers submitted to a Scottish Court have been leaked and it appears that Boris Johnson will ask for a delay on the Brexit term of 31st October, 2019, in case of the lack of a deal within the 19th October, 2019. It appears that these documents are in open contradiction with the PM’s statements and conducts so far. In fact, Mr Johnson has previously said “we will obey the law, and will come out on 31st October” in any event. Nonetheless, Downing Street still claims that the UK will definitively leave the European Union at the end of October. In accordance with the so-called Benn Act, the government would be compelled to ask for a delay to the EU in case the alternative would be to leave the EU with no deal; the Benn Act provided for a short term in order to verify the existence of a deal and that would be precisely 19th October, 2019.
