Immigration measures announced on 12 March 2020 entered into force on 6 April 2020.
The most significant changes concern not only the E.U. Settlement Scheme, but there are also interesting news about Tier 2, Tier 5 and the Global Talent Visa.
As for the E.U. Settlement Scheme, it is extended to all citizens in possession of the documents required by the Immigration Regulations 2016 and to their family members on condition that being under the age of 18, the relative protection has been entrusted to a European citizen; are relatives of the spouse or civil partner of a European citizen; are children, under the age of 18, of the partner of a European citizen. The leave to enter or “entry authorization” granted on the basis of the E.U. appendix called “family permit” can be revoked in the event of changes in family circumstances. The revocation order can be contested through the administrative review procedure. As for Tier 2: there are no changes to the minimum wage required to submit the application to obtain the indefinite leave to remain of Tier 2 category; in fact, the minimum limit of £ 35,800 will be maintained for all applicants. As regards Tier 5, the “youth mobility program”, the number of places available has been updated.
