Notwithstanding the difficulties that arose as a consequence of the Covid-19 outbreak, the EU aims and objectives shall not be put aside, as MEPs seem to agree on. Specifically, according to MEPs, in order to provide the better plan to move forward, the EU must take the Green Deal under consideration and shall continue to plan a strategy for the future. Accordingly, MEPs agreed on a Resolution, dated April 17th, 2020, according to which EU is focusing on a series of initiatives to make European economy sustainable, at its core to stimulate the economy and fight climate change. Indeed, MEPs urge not to forget that, as a consequence of the measures for the prevention of the pandemic spread, there have been some positive impacts on the air: for instance, air pollution has declined and other European cities registered major decreases in nitrogen dioxide concentration. Furthermore, the same measures, with specific relation to workplaces and work-related travels, has helped the decrease of CO2 emissions.
