On June 28th 2020, the WTO and 4 academic institutions decided to award the winners of the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition on WTO Law; the competition was a simulation of a hearing of the WTO dispute settlement system. In the end, India’s Government Law College in Mumbai was announced as the absolute winner, followed by the Katholieke Universiteit in Leuve, Belgium. The competition was hard, considering the participation of 76 institutions from 37 different WTO member states since the regional rounds that took place in February and May 2020. A peculiarity of the competition of this year was that many regional rounds took place online because of the Covid-19 outbreak and specifically the American, African and South and East Asian rounds. The final round was held online on June 22nd-28th, 2020, and it lasted over four days. These the finalist teams: Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium), Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Colombia), University of Geneva (Switzerland) and Government Law College, Mumbai (India).
