According to some official estimates, around one million people from Hong Kong could move to live in the U.K. in the next five years. Plans have been developed that will allow British overseas citizens (BNOs) and their families living in Hong Kong to apply for a Visa to live and work in the U.K. Approximately, 3 million people are eligible to qualify as British Overseas Citizens and the Home Office estimates that around 500,000 will move to the U.K. as new visas become available. You will be able to apply for a Visa starting from 31 January 2021. You can apply for a 30 month or five years visa to live, work or study in the U.K. At the end of the five years, it will be possible to apply for an indefinite residence permit and, after 12 months of obtaining this permit, apply for British citizenship.
