The new skilled workers Visa, introduced by the new immigration system is the main category of Visas that most of those wishing to move to the U.K. to work will need to obtain. This Visa was introduced on the 1^st December 2020 replacing the previous general Tier 2 Visa. Applicants must demonstrate that they have received a job offer from a recognized sponsor, that that work is at an appropriate level of competence and that they have sufficient knowledge of the English language (level B1). In addition, the salary requirement must be between £23,040 and £ 25,999 or more. The application can be submitted up to three months before the work start date indicated on the sponsorship certificate. The process depends on the type of application submitted (if presented from abroad, if the extension of a residence permit in the U.K. is requested or if the transition for a skilled workers Visa is requested from another Visa).
