Articoli Correlati: ESMA - ESAP - EC consultation
The European Commission did some consultation towards specific entities in order to get the recommendations and opinions of those entities on the European Single Access Point (ESAP); following the consultation, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s securities markets regulator, wrote its reply and an accompanying letter to the EC containing its resolutions on the subject: in particular, ESMA suggests a phased approach with the aim of prioritizing financial and non-financial information of public companies. With reference to the matter, the Chair of ESMA Steven Maijoor affirmed that “A single access point for information about companies is one of the key missing components of the Capital Markets Union. ESMA is fully supportive of the ambition to set up the ESAP as it will increase investor trust in companies across the EU and lower the costs of capital.” One of the concerns that ESMA expressed with reference to the ambitious project is that ESAP could be supported but there remain some doubts on the real and material possibilities of actually implementing the project.
