On September 10th, 2021, the European Parliament published a survey, carried out ahead of the debate on the State of the European Union on September 15th, 2021, four out of five respondents (81%) say that the EU should only provide funds to Member States that respect the rule of law and democratic values. European citizens also expressed a good view on vaccines, the Green Pass and the management of vaccine purchases by the EU. With this survey it also emerged a clear support of European public opinion for the vaccination policies implemented by the Member States, also thanks to the key role of the EU (positively evaluated by 64% of Europeans and 69% of Italians). As regards the safety of vaccines, 72% of Europeans believe that the benefits of vaccines outweigh the potential risks, a figure that reaches 77% in Italy, while the same vaccination is considered a “civic duty” by 67% of Europeans and 76% of Italians.
