On 8 September 2022, the E.U. Court of Justice ruled that in disputes to identify the inventor of a patent and the owner’s assets do not fall within the scope of application of regulation 1215/2012 on jurisdiction, recognition and the enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters (Brussels I bis). Consequently, the internal rules of each Member State on international jurisdiction apply in these cases.
