The draft AGCOM Guidelines on parental control, adopted on 19 July 2022, was sent to the European Commission to receive the required opinion and will be subject to definitive approval in the coming months. After the public consultation held in the first months of 2022, AGCOM updated the Outline of Guidelines on “Systems for the protection of minors from the risks of cyberspace”, aimed at implementing article 7-bis of Legislative Decree 30 April 2020 no. 28 (added upon conversion by law 25 June 2020 n. 70) which provides for the obligation for TLC operators, in supply contracts for electronic communication services, to pre-activate parental control systems or content filtering systems free of charge inappropriate for minors and block content reserved for an adult audience.
